The International Symposium on Experimental and Computational Aerothermodynamics of Internal Flows (ISAIF) was founded in 1990 by Prof. Shen Yu (Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, CAS). The aim was to encourage scientific and technical cooperation between Asia and Europe. The first symposium organized in 1990 took place in Beijing and was followed by Prague three years later. Since then, 13 more symposia were organized all around Asia and Europe. Although organized alternatively in Asia and Europe, participants come from all around the world.
The primary objective of the ISAIF is to bring together scientists, academicians and engineers to communicate and discuss recent findings and experience in research on aerothermodynamics of internal flows. Exchanging new ideas and results among specialists in the field is essential for expanding knowledge and effectively advancing the design of devices that operate with and rely on fluids.
